HSE at APL
Everything we do depends on the safety of our operations, our workforce and the communities around us& means a lot in all of our business activities.Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) is committed to helping its employees and contractors stay safe and remain healthy. All work carries risks. We consistently train our workforce, and give our employees and contractors the authority and responsibility to stop work if they believe conditions are unsafe.
We strive to achieve world-class performance and prevent all incidents through a rigorous and systematic process of continuous improvement. Our workforce truly believes that incidents are preventable and that “zero incidents” is achievable. We have policies, processes, tools and behavioral expectations in place to assist us in achieving that goal.
Occupational Health
The health of our employees is important to Attock Petroleum. We recognize that healthy employees are better able to do their jobs. We also know that many of our employees and contractors plan on working later into life.
Occupational health refers to the identification and control of the risks arising from physical, chemical, and other workplace hazards in order to establish and maintain a safe and healthy working environment. APL has supported training and education programs designed to protect workers from exposure to materials encountered during hazardous operations and their emergency response.
Safety
APL is committed to preventing serious injuries and fatalities, which requires operational discipline. This means performing every task the right way every time, from assessing hazards to executing each step of the job to conducting a post-activity review. Written safe-work practices are a core part of our comprehensive safety program. These safe-work practices help ensure that potentially hazardous work, such as electrical work or entry into a confined space, is properly planned, permitted, executed and closed out to prevent workplace injuries and incidents. We take steps to extend these safety principles to our contractors by reinforcing our expectations and monitoring compliance with requirements throughout the life cycle of our projects. This includes engaging with our contractors to improve oversight of their activities.
Environment
Our approach to sustainability starts with running a safe, efficient, responsible and profitable business. We also work to share benefits with the communities where we operate. And we’re helping to shape a more sustainable energy future, by collaborating with others on global energy challenges.
APL, fully understand and realize the need and responsibility towards the community. Hence,“Spring Tree Plantation Event” in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA) was held on May, 2015 at Kashmir Highway, Islamabad.
Advanced technology, new ways of operating and partnerships are helping to manage our environmental impact as we contribute to meeting the world’s growing energy needs.
HSE Guidelines:
It is our collective goal to eliminate all injuries, occupational illnesses, unsafe practices and incidents of environmental harm from our activities. We believe that our work is never so urgent or important that we cannot take the time to do it safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
We eliminate or mitigate risks by identifying hazards, taking actions to reduce them and sharing what we know. To accomplish this, we have developed our hazard identification tool along with our job hazard and safety analysis procedures.
Attock Petroleum Limited is committed to conduct business with strong environment conscience ensuring sustainable development, safe workplaces and enrichment of quality of life of Employees, Customers and the Community.
